Open for business: After ten months of construction, the new Lounge Center A, home to the new SWISS Business and Senator Lounge, is welcoming guests.
The SWISS Business and Senator Lounge feature separate entryways. But both have many commonalities, like the raised table that lines the glass atrium, inviting guests to linger. The arched ceiling and the impressive chrome ducts lend the SWISS Lounges its distinctive marketplace atmosphere. There were a number of challenges to overcome, as constructing the Lounge Center A required the builders to put in new walls, install hundreds of square metres of parquet flooring, and combine structures from three time periods and five height levels to get the cohesive space it is today.
The zone concept divides the SWISS Lounges into functional areas while staying true to its design and offering increased seating capacity. With front cooking, guests can enjoy culinary delights while designated workspaces allow them to get things done undisturbed. What was once home to the world’s longest serviced bar has now been turned into an area with reclining chairs and lounge suites, complete with views of arriving aircraft. Smokers are accommodated in a designated outside space.
Measuring 560 square metres in size, the SWISS Business Lounge stays true to its Swiss origins by offering a common area featuring a unique Swiss design. Meanwhile, the spacious Senator Lounge, extending over 720 square metres, is home to a relaxing club area featuring comfortable seats – a perfect retreat for our frequent flyers. The new Lounge Center A offers guests at Zurich Airport a modern environment. A space in which people don’t wish for the seconds to go by until their flight departs, but savour every moment to the fullest. The SWISS Lounges have been worth the wait.
