Lufthansa and mytaxi are launching a taxi-sharing service from Munich Airport to the city centre. With mytaximatch, passengers and travellers can share a taxi to Munich’s city centre and save up to 50% in travel costs. Depending on route and traffic conditions, costs can normally amount to as much as 85 euros – with mytaximatch it’s never more than 49 euros, even if no co-passengers are found – even in the case of ‘no match’, passengers can benefit from the price guarantee. The starting point for shared mytaximatch trips is the taxi rank (P31) at Terminal 2.
Land, book a taxi, travel together and share the fare
The new service makes onward travel after arrival uncomplicated and, above all, cheaper, and can be booked initially for a three-month trial period. Orders can be placed at the touch of a finger via the mytaxi app. Before starting the journey, the customer decides on their match option and enters the address of their destination. Mytaximatch then connects two passengers who have a similar destination, thus enabling them to travel together. To make sure that the taxi does not get too crowded, both passengers should not have more than two pieces of luggage with them. At the end of each leg of the journey, the app calculates the fare for each customer.
Lufthansa travellers can receive all the information about the new service exclusively via the Lufthansa app and are forwarded directly to the mytaxi service.
